Our Story:

Meet Laura Castañeda, the founder and owner of Liset’s Accessories. Originally from Mexico and now living in Warner Robins, Georgia. Laura started her business four years ago when she was looking for an extra income to support her family. At the time, Laura had just had her baby and was suffering from postpartum depression. She needed something to uplift her spirits and provide an outlet for her creative energy.

As someone who has always loved flashy accessories, Laura started researching the jewelry business and decided to start selling earrings. But with no job and little capital, Laura had to get creative. She took the quarters and dimes she had saved up and exchanged them for $400 at Walmart. With this money, she found a supplier and ordered her first batch of 20 earrings, starting the business as we know it today.

Laura started selling her earrings to family members and friends but quickly realized she needed to expand her reach. Opening a sales page on Facebook, she started showcasing her products to a wider audience. Liset’s Accessories started to grow, and there was a need for more suppliers. That's when she discovered Mexican artisan jewelry, which reminded her of her home country and offered beautiful handmade accessories that were hard to find in the US.

Over the past four years, Lisets Accessories has grown steadily. The business has expanded its product line to include a wide range of accessories, from earrings and necklaces to bracelets and hair accessories and two trends to include fashion and western styles. It also built up a loyal customer base, thanks to Laura’s friendly and personalized approach to treating customers.

But the pandemic presented a new challenge for Liset’s Accessories. With many people staying home and avoiding in-person shopping, Laura, like many other business owners, had to find new ways to reach customers, which gave her the opportunity to connect with them over the phone and through live shows on social media. Through these shows, she was able to showcase her accessories, provide styling tips, and connect with her customers in a new way. Liset’s Accessories also started offering contactless delivery and pickup options, which helped reassure customers during a difficult time.

Laura's passion and dedication to her business have helped her navigate these challenges and continue to grow Liset’s Accessories.
